Our initial efforts focused on mapping flows that best displayed different annuity configurations. Among the configurations were adjustments to risk profiles and market return scenarios.
Before creating a mid-fidelity prototype from these flows, we conducted A/B testing to determine the layout. We went with Layout B because users favored simplicity over content visibility.
Layout A
Able to compare the investment costs associated with each risk profile at a glance
More content leads to information overload, making it difficult to grasp key details
A static three-column layout is overwhelming for presenting complex financial concepts
Redundant information in each column prolongs the presentation's overall duration
Later sprints concentrated on enhancing visual aids and content in the mid-fidelity prototype based on feedback.
After making these improvements, our product owner approved the transition to a high-fidelity iteration.
Risk Profile Visualization
Incorporating visualizations to represent percentage allocations within each annuity risk profile enhances visual appeal and improves client understanding.
Add-On Living Benefit Description
Revising the description for the annuity Add-on Living Benefit provides advisors with a clearer talking point to highlight its advantages to clients.
The high-fidelity iteration for Step 3 was met with great enthusiasm from the target audience.
Advisors found the interface easy to navigate, while clients demonstrated strong understanding of content.
Overall, the interface continues the task flow introduced in the previous step—enabling advisors to foster a sense of control and empowerment among their clients.
